Conservative dentistry

Conservative dentistry is a branch of dentistry dealing with the prevention of dental caries and the treatment of carious defects. The main reason for tooth damage is caries. It is a bacterial disease, and its lack of treatment may lead to serious problems, often requiring more time-consuming and expensive methods of treatment (e.g. root canal treatment).

Depending on the degree of damage of the tooth, apart from standard fillings we offer alternative possibilities:

  • Onlays - made by dental technican

  • ICON- stopping initial caries and removing white spots from the tooth surface, without drilling and pain

Onlays are more permanent and aesthetic alternative to traditional fillings. These fillings replace the standard "seal" in the case of extensive cavities in the posterior teeth. They are prepared in the prosthetic laboratory on the basis of extracts taken and then carefully placed on the tooth using composite cement. This ensures extraordinary precision and precise reconstruction of the shape of the patient's tooth. Onlays are usually made of porcelain due to its aesthetic properties, but can also be made of composite.

Advantages of onlays:

  • They are very durable and resistant to abrasion.

  • Looks like a natural tooth, providing maximum aesthetics

  • Not discoloured

  • They do not change their shape and size under the influence of temperature

  • Significantly strengthen the structure of the tooth

  • Precise restoration of the tooth shape guarantees better functionality
